We all know how stressful traveling can be no matter how hard we try to prepare. As we know, some days are much busier than others whether we are traveling by car or plane. Some days the airport is empty, when others you need to arrive hours and hours early to ensure you make it through security and are able to board your flight on time. One of the best ways to save time and reduce stress while traveling is to book your trip 1 to 3 days before or after the most popular days if you are able to.
As we all know, holidays are of course the most traveled days of the year. According to AAA, the Mondays following a holiday are always the busiest. If you can, try traveling on Sunday or Tuesday and you are bound to save some time and even money because airfares are known to rise on the most popular days.
The days which are expected to be most hectic are those around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve including:
November 24, 28
December 24, 27, 31
January 2, 3
If you have no choice but to travel on these days, just make sure you give yourself enough extra time and get ready for crowds and traffic. If you’re worried about any trip cancellations and delays, a travel insurance policy can help with any costs you may have to deal with if you do in fact experience any unexpected disruptions!
